                              Dr. Mary Carter

Dr. Mary Carter graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988, and has been with Lakota Hills Animal Clinic since 1989.

Dr. Carter’s special interests in veterinary medicine include internal medicine, geriatric medicine, and dermatology, with the challenges and rewards which they bring.

In her time away from the clinic, Dr. Carter enjoys spending time with her family and pets, horse shows, traveling, and flower gardening for hummingbirds and butterflies, with a special fondness for Monarch butterflies.

Dr. Carter’s pets include Callie (Golden Retriever, a TDI Certified Therapy Dog), Riley (Collie), Holly (kitty), and Dakota and Buckwheat (Quarter horses).

                           Dr. Lorrie Meyer

Dr. Lorrie Meyer is a 1994 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and has been with Lakota Hills Animal Clinic since 1995.

Dr. Meyer’s favorite areas of veterinary medicine include soft tissue surgery, cardiology, dermatology, oncology, and geriatric medicine.

In her free time, Dr. Meyer enjoys reading, running, spinning, and spending time at sports with her family.

Dr. Meyer’s pets are all rescues including Jack (Labrador mix), Scooby (Pug), Cyclone (Australian Shepherd), Jingle, Storm, and Bella (kitties), Hank (red eared slider turtle), and Oreo (black & white mouse).

                          Dr. Jennifer Hogseth

Dr. Jennifer Hogseth is a 2001 graduate of The Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine, located in Ithaca, NY.  She has been an associate veterinarian with Lakota Hills Animal Clinic since 2006.

Although Dr. Hogseth loves working with dogs and cats, she also has a special interest in avian and exotic animal medicine.  Dr. Hogseth has been treating reptiles, exotics, small mammals and pocket pets since 2001.

In her time away from the clinic, Dr. Hogseth enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, reading, birding, walking, and hiking.

Dr. Hogseth’s “other children” include Sophie (Miniature Schnauzer), Annie and Oliver (kitties), and Patrick and Smokey Joe (cockatiels). 


Practice Manager
                             Mindy

Mindy has worked as a Veterinary Hospital Practice Manager since 1990, and joined Lakota Hills Animal Clinic in 2003.

In addition to working as a Practice Manager, Mindy is also the clinic's Nutritional Consultant, Behavior Counselor, and the coordinator for the clinic’s behavior center and services.

Mindy’s special interests in Veterinary Medicine include oncology, dermatology, geriatric care, holistic alternatives, nutrition, and behavior.

In her free time Mindy enjoys canine agility, pet therapy programs at local nursing homes and schools, participating in car shows and cruise-ins with the family antique cars and street rods, target shooting, and reading.

Mindy shares her life with her husband John, geriatric kitty Lazarus, and Australian Shepherd Boomer, a TDI Certified Therapy Dog who she shares with her father, residing on his Preble County farm.

                             Carol, RVT

Carol graduated from Raymond Walters Veterinary Technician program in 1976, was the very first RVT at Lakota Hills Animal Clinic, and has been our head technician since that time.

Carol enjoys interacting with the clients and patients, and has a special love for surgery and dentistry.

In her free time, Carol enjoys gardening, bird watching, traveling, and reading.

Carol’s family includes her Shetland Sheepdog Glory, and her kitties Indigo and Oreo.

                              Jenny

Jenny came to work for Lakota Hills Animal Clinic in 2006, with several years of veterinary experience. 

Jenny graduated from Midway College with a BS in Equine Therapy.

Jenny is passionate about rescuing homeless animals and in her spare time helps to find homes for rescued animals.

Jenny has a menagerie of rescued pets of her own including her horse Thunder, dog Ringo, 10 cats, as well as many fosters.  Jenny also supports several feral cat colonies in which she traps, sterilizes, and releases them back into their families. 
                            Jessica

Jessica began working at Lakota Hills Animal Clinic in 2006 as a Veterinary Assistant, was promoted to Veterinary Assistant Coordinator in 2008, and Administrative Assistant in 2009. 

Jess is active in rescuing both domestic animals and wildlife, and currently has several rescued pets at home including kitties Twilly, Louie, Tater Tot, and Grimm, and Labrador Retreiver Maynard.

In her spare time, Jess enjoys spending time with friends, family, and  husband Jason.

Diane has been with Lakota Hills Animal Clinic since 2001. 

Diane is the proud grandma to 3 adorable grandsons, as well as 2 granddogs (a husky and a golden retriever). 

In her time away from the clinic, Diane enjoys watching her daughter participate in agility, boating, swimming, and spending time with her family.

                                Oreo, Einstein, Pearla, & Pierce

Oreo, Einstein, Pearla, and Pierce have been designated our official welcoming committee!  All four were rescues and earn their keep around the clinic by providing stress relief for both the staff and the clients.  Oreo is our black and white longhair, Einstein is our redhead, Pearla is our seal point siamese, and Pierce is our grey and white big boy.

All of our Registered Veterinary Technicians have graduated from an accredited college with an associate degree in Veterinary Technology, have passed the State of Ohio Veterinary Technician board examination, and regularly complete continuing education courses required to maintain their licensure.  Only veterinary technicians who complete these requirements are entitled to use RVT as their title.
Kayla

Kayla came to work for Lakota Hills Animal Clinic in the spring of 2011 after working for 2 years at another veterinary clinic. 

Kayla graduated from Butler Tech Natural Science Center and is currently attending classes at Cincinnati State for her pre-requisites in Veterinary Technology. 

Kayla has a guinea pig, Layla, and 2 cats, Sophie and Kinko. 

When not working or attending school, Kayla enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, line dancing, and going to rodeos.

A 4 time cancer survivor who fought cancer for almost 10 years, Rukkus lost his 5th battle to cancer on March 13, 2011, just 3 months shy of his 13th birthday.
Tally crossed the Rainbow Bridge on July 29, 2011 at the age of 15 years.
Bernie crossed the Rainbow Bridge on December 17, 2007 at 14 years old.

Emily

Emily began working for Lakota Hills Animal Clinic in the summer of 2011, after several years of customer service and managing a horse boarding facility.

Emily loves working with all types of animals, particularly the behavior and training aspects.  She was an active member in Butler County 4-H for 8 years, raising and showing rabbits, dogs, and horses.

Emily lives on a farm with her family, cat Tiger, dog Angel, and horse Charlie.  In her spare time she enjoys horseback riding, helping with the family horse boarding business, fishing, shopping, and staying active at the gym.
Dr. Colleen Black

Dr. Colleen Black  is a 1998 graduate of Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine, located in Lafayette, IN.  She was an associate of Lakota Hills Animal Clinic from 1999 through 2003.  Following 5 years of veterinary relief work, she returned to Lakota Hills Animal Clinic in 2008.

Dr. Black has special interest in dermatology, internal medicine, and geriatric medicine.

When Dr. Black is not working, her life revolves around her family which includes her husband and daughters, boxer mix Moe, pitbull mix Yammi, and kitty Garth.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, jogging, swimming, and visiting out of town friends.

Melissa

Melissa joined Lakota Hills Animal Clinic in 2008, after earning her BS in Biology, with minors in Animal Behavior and Psychology from Indiana University. 

Melissa also works at The Cincinnati Zoo as an instructor for their educational programs.  Melissa has experience working with large and exotic cats at the Exotic Feline Rescue Center in Center Point, IN. 

Melissa shares her life with Shyla, her Siberian Husky and M.J. Chow, her rescued kitty. 
Danelle

Danelle began working for Lakota Hills Animal Clinic in 2008, with previous veterinary assistant experience. 

Danelle graduated from Diamond Oaks CDC Equine Science and Management program, completed many on-line veterinary assistant courses, completed many courses in the Veterinary Technician Program at Penn-Foster College, and is currently enrolled in the University of Cincinnati Raymond Walters Veterinary Technician Program to obtain her certification as an RVT. 

In her free time Danelle enjoys horseback riding and competition barrel racing.  She currently has 4 horses, 3 dogs and 5 cats.
 
Welcoming Comittee Update...


Oreo has moved in with Carol and her family of pets.  Einstein, Pearla, and Pierce say are fine with this arrangement since they get more than their share of attention and treats now that there are only three of them!
